The 770
sq metre single-storey bungalow, built in semi-colonial
style, also incoporates typical Kerala architectural
features. Besides four spacious
and
lavishly appointed bedrooms and two childrens rooms in the
main bungalow, the out-house on the southern side of the
garden contains two more bedrooms with all modern
amenities.
Besides our standard package
consisting of 7 nights and 8 days, we can also offer you
special packages, including Ayurvedic rejuvenation,
totally customised to suit your requirements, budget and
the time at your disposal.
A grand flower-lined driveway leads you to the front
porch. The graceful arches, resting on rock columns
holding the medium- pitched sheet roofs, are gabled above
the porch. Tiny steps with scalloped edges take you into
the luxurious interiors.
On either side of a long passage are the main bedrooms. In
the bedroom adjacent to the drawing area is a large
pentagon-shaped floor-cot which once
served
as a playroom for children.
Two more bedrooms take up the northern side of the
bungalow. The living/dining areas and all bedrooms feature
fire-places adorned with exquisite woodwork. The charming
cots in these bedrooms, remarkable in their design and
wooden carvings, are fitted with reading lights that pop
out at the touch of a button.
Lavished with Luxury and
Amenities
The original open verandas on the northern and western
sides now have large glass windows running the full
length. But the open veranda on the east is retained in
its original form, where you can inhale lungful of fresh,
scented air wafting from the plantations.
The spacious living room is elegantly furnished with
comfortable sofas and solid wood furniture. The huge
bay-window, which opens out to the verandah, lets in
plenty of cool fresh air and natural lighting.
The bungalow has a unique collection of age-old furniture
made in teak,
ebony
and rosewood.
Rare pieces of wooden coat-stands, cheval glass,
armchairs, easy chairs and intricate wooden carvings are
souvenirs of a glorious past. The perfection of the
craftsmanship, evident even on the flint car vings, on the
canted corners of the chest of drawers or the coat-stand
is very difficult to match
The bungalow houses a clean, well-equipped kitchen which
serves vegetarian food and refreshments from the Kitchens
of India menu. Special North Indian dishes are prepared on
request. |
