Established in 1997 the
Ideal Ayurvedic Resort is located near Chowara beach on
the beautiful Malabar coastline of Kerala. Situated on the
edge of a small village within a canopy of coconut palms,
and just 5 minutes walk from the beach, the resort is
beautifully placed to ensure that your holiday is an
authentic experience. It provides the perfect place in
which to regain your inner peace and health whilst giving
easy access to all the possibilities of a relaxing beach
holiday. For the more adventurous it offers the
invigoration of a sightseeing holiday of discovery in an
area steeped in cultural tradition and scenic splendor. |

owned and managed, the staff at Ideal Ayurvedic Resort
takes your care and enjoyment to heart. The extremely high
standards of cleanlin ess,
and efficiency of service, are complimented by a very
genuine warmth and consideration. Every effort is made to
accommodate your needs and to make you feel 'at home' in
our care. Any special dietary, travel, or personal needs
will be taken care by the staff so please just let them
know.
Ideal
Ayurvedic Resort is approximately 20 kilometers from the
Trivandrum International Airport, Trivandrum Central
Railway Station and the Bus Station. We offer a
complimentary pick-up and drop-off service from your point
of arrival.

Facilities
The Ideal
Ayurvedic Resort is dedicated to the Ayurvedic principle
of holistic health and the restoration of total health and
well being through the rebalancing of the Vata, Pitta and
Kapha energies. The medical team of specially trained
staff includes three masters, three consultants, eleven
therapists and several experienced medicine makers.
In order to achieve optimal
results for each individual guest no treatments are given
without a consultation with one of the doctors and/or
masters. All aspects of well being are thoroughly
considered, taking into account not only any obvious
symptoms of doshic imbalance, but also lifestyle factors
affecting the equilibrium of the mind and spirit.
Based on the doctor's assessment an individual treatment
program is then designed for each guest, addressing their
current general state of health, specific health issues,
personal aspirations and the time available for treatment.
The program will recommend appropriate physical treatments
and will offer total guidance on the combination of foods
that will compliment these treatments.
There are
now many body care therapies and treatment packages
available in Ayurvedic resorts. This can look like a
commercial mass-market  approach
to Ayurveda and in some cases may well be. At Ideal we
offer a range of combination treatment therapies designed
to address specific health issues but we also ensure that
all treatments within such therapies are in fact suitable
for the individual guest and we will change the selection
of treatments as appropriate to ensure that optimal health
care is achieved. |

Accommodation Built
around an open courtyard, the Ideal Ayurvedic Resort
consists of a main guesthouse, 4 traditional Keralan
cottages and a treatment centre. With a maximum capacity
of 28 guests the resort offers an unequalled level of
friendly individual attention.
The main guesthouse contains
10 tastefully decorated double rooms, each with an ensuite
toilet / shower room with hot water. All rooms have a
large ceiling fan and phone. The deluxe rooms are also
provided with a refrigerator. The cottages also provide
double occupancy accommodation with the same facilities,
ensuite toilet / shower room with hot water, a large
ceiling fan and phone.
The
highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene are kept
throughout the whole compound. The grounds and the
communal parts of the buildings are washed down, cleaned
and swept every morning, and individual rooms are cleaned
every day. Clean bed linen, towels, soaps and shampoo
sachets are also supplied
daily. The water supplied throughout the compound is
sterilized.
Special reduced rates are quoted for single occupancy, and
it is possible to request a third bed for a small
additional cost - please see our tariff sheet for all
prices.
Eating is a relaxed, pleasurable, outdoor experience at
Ideal Ayurvedic Resort. The open air dining area is a
place where friendships are easily made and guests have
the choice of joining up with others or finding their own
space. The dining area spills out into the courtyard for
those who like to get even closer to nature. The best of
ingredients go into the preparation of the meals and the
service comes with friendly efficiency.
In Ayurveda food and drinks are classified according to
their taste - sweet, salty, spicy, sour, hot, cold and
bitter - and thus by their influence on the doshas. All
tastes should be represented in each meal, but within the
proportionally specific requirements for each individual
guest.
You can choose to follow a diet recommended by the doctors
or can order your own selection each meal time, with a
member of staff on hand to advise you on the suitability
of specific foods, herbs and spices for you and to help
you select dishes according to your treatment program.
Ayurvedic food is both healthy and delicious! The dishes
our cooks prepare will surprise and delight you in their
variety and delicacy. Or multi-cuisine kitchen offers
local Keralan specialties, European and Chinese dishes and
caters for vegan, vegetarian and non-vegetarian. We are

Rooftop Terrace
The rooftop terrace, on top of the main guesthouse, offers
a cool, quiet space amongst the treetops to get away from
it all. With only the birds for company it is the ideal
place for quiet reflection or an engrossing read. In the
early evening Yoga classes are held on the terrace and at
night it gives wonderful access to the skies for
stargazing and meditation. |
